Update before diagnosing a Hood Warfare 2 anti-cheat kick. Trapstar Games added anti-cheat in patch 1.0.10 and later said patch 1.0.1.4 fixed issues that falsely kicked players. A kick message alone does not establish that someone cheated.
What the official updates changed
| Announcement | Confirmed change |
|---|---|
| October 12: 1.0.10 | Anti-cheat added; suspected cheating can be reported through the pause menu |
| October 14: 1.0.1.4 | Issues with false anti-cheat kicks fixed; additional joining and crash fixes listed |
The Steam listing also names Easy Anti-Cheat as kernel-level anti-cheat. That identifies the listed system; it does not supply a remedy for every error code or prove that every disconnect came from that system.
If the game kicks you
- Keep the exact message and note whether it appeared while joining or during the match.
- Check the version in the bottom-right corner of the menu.
- If your installation predates the false-kick fix, update it through Steam.
- If the update is not offered, use the developer's refresh instruction: Steam → Exit Steam, reopen Steam, then check the game again.
- Retry and keep the result with the version and message if the failure persists.
Do not rename an ordinary crash or joining error as an anti-cheat kick without the relevant message. Patch 1.0.1.4 mentions these as separate fix categories. Similarly, a false-kick fix is not an official appeal procedure for an account ban.
If you suspect another player is cheating
Open the pause menu and use its Report feature. This is the developer's stated route for suspected cheating. Trapstar Games says it reviews reports and may ban a player it determines is cheating; submitting a report does not itself establish guilt or an immediate ban.
Keep your report tied to what happened in the match. An unusual kill or a score you dislike is not a verified diagnosis. Record the situation and visible behavior so that the report describes evidence rather than a conclusion.
Keep modified files separate from official fixes
The checked sources do not establish an approved downloadable-mod catalog or a game-specific file modification that repairs anti-cheat. Use the mod-support reference to distinguish ordinary weapon attachments from community software.
The documented remedies on this page are updating the game, refreshing a missing update and using the official reporting route. They do not require disabling anti-cheat or replacing its files.
